 MASSAT
is situated in the central French Pyrenees in a departement called ARIEGE A visitor to Massat out of the french holiday period will find the village very quiet and sleepy. The square ( pictured here) has
several bars and shops around it .
 
The locals love cycling
and always come out in force to support any events
 The
forest of massat is a mixture of pine and deciduous trees the pathways
are slowly being marked but as there are so many ,to get the best presently
out of a stay you must be handy with a map and compass
This is the view 3 km up a mountain road from the valley bottom Massat is just hiding behind the bushes in the foreground.  The
play school of Massat it is open to all children between the ages
of 3 months and 6 years , they love to have children visiting them from
other countries

would be forgiven for suggesting that time has forgotten Massat . It has
the slow laid back attitude to life that people come on holiday for.Shopping
in one of the traditional shops is a slow business if your french
is good enough you may learn all the gossip about the residents !!
