Nick and Jan

Hi...

Several months ago I wrote and asked if you knew of a cycling route through
the Pyrenees staying on the Spanish side...

You gave me the following route...

1.Cadaques Mediterean      (We actually started in Barcelona and headed
West from the Mediterranean at Colonge)

2.Banyoles                         69km (GREAT campsite by a lake)

3.Ripoll                               66km (unfortunately didn't make Ripoll
in one day bike was stolen in Olot (very luckily retrieved) Nice town Ripoll
also nice in Olot)

4.Sant Llorenc                   75KM (we decided to climb a huge hill just
outside Berga and stayed at a campsite way on top of a hill so we didn't
stay in Sant Llorenc)

5.Coll de Nargo                 52KM (due to the change of plans the day
earlier we camped in Cambrils (just before Coll de Nargo) very glad we did
though - Cambrils not much more than a campsite a few horses and surrounded
by mountains)

6.Tremp                              58KM (huge day from Cambrils to Tremp -
Coll de Boixells! wow)

7.Pont de Suert                 54KM (campsite information in Pont de Suert a
bit confusing but found one about 10k North of Pont de Suert)

8.Ainsa                               87KM (a bit touristy but no doubt good
if you are heading off adventuring)

9.Biescas                           67KM (instead of Biescas we stayed in
Broto and did some walking in Ordessa)

10.Isaba                            109KM (cut this day in two (from Broto)
and stayed 20K further west from Jaca and then on to Isaba through Zoriso)

11.Zubiri                              79KM (went a few extra K up the road
to Eugi and found a very pretty town on a lake)

12.Fuenterrabia atlantic     85KM ( :( the trip was over.... nice town...
great camping on a hill overlooking the Atlantic)!

I'd just like to say that myself and my partner followed the route and had
an absolultely fantastic time...  We arrived back in Australia yesterday and
I am really finding it hard to get back into life after the Pyrenees... well
not just the Pyrenees, the whole of Spain really...

Thank you very much for helping out... It was my first cycle tour (my
partner has been cycling and cycle touring for ten years) and it was down to
me to organise the holiday (my partner and I take it in turns).

Although we followed your route... we often found ourselves staying in
different towns... as noted (due to some minor hiccups along the way)  So if
you get the opportunity to cycle the Spanish Pyrenees and you would like
some information on other towns to stay in please don't hesitate to email
me... similarly if anyone is looking for information forward their request!!

Yours in Spanish cycling heaven
